ELS CUTS DUBAI DESERT CLASSIC
GAP TO ONE SHOT AT HALFWAY

Ernie Els closed the gap to one shot on leader Ross Fisher when the second round of the Dubai Desert Classic was completed at the Emirates Club this morning.

Players with 36-hole totals of three-under-par 141 qualified for the final two rounds.

Four Scots beat the cut - Colin Montgomerie, who shot a second-round 66 for 139, and Alastair Forsyth, Andrew Coltart and Stephen Gallacher, all on 140.
