FRASER MANN WINS MIDLAND ALLIANCE
CHAMPIONSHIP FOR SECOND TIME
This week the Midland Golfer’s Alliance held the Perla Shower Panels Championship at Leven Links, Fife.
On a windy but glorious day scoring proved to be tricky.
Carnoustie professional Fraser Mann won the championship for the second time with a 36 hole total of 5 over par 145.
In the Handicap Section scratch man Mark Anderson (Leven Thistle) was best with a net total of 146. In the McQueen Shield, played over 18 holes, Robert White (Burntisland) (handicap 11) won with a net score of 70 while five-handicapper Steven Paterson (Lundin) had the top scratch score of 79.

Jordan Brown wins at Monifieth with a 4-under-par 67
This week the Midland Golfers’ Alliance held the Quality Precision Electronics Ltd. pro-am at Monifieth Links, playing over the Medal Course.
The course was in fantastic condition and the scores reflected this.
Drumoig Golf Centre assistant professional Jordan Brown led the way in the scratch section with a four-under-par 67.
In the team competition Edzell assistant pro Mike Mackenzie, Andrew Anderson (Murrayshall) (8), Jim Watt (Edzell) (3), Keith Bruce (Edzell) (1) won the team competition with a score of 126

Taylor, McDonald, Melville tie with par 71s at Charleton
There was a three-way tie for the top scratch prize at this week's Midland Golfers Alliance competition at Charleton golf course, Fife.
David Taylor (St Andrews New) (4), professional Alastair McDonald (Dunnikier Park) and retired Alyth pro Tom Melville all scored level par 71.
In the handicap section, there was a four-way tie for first place with Scott Edwards (St Andrews) (6) Martin McLeish (Dunkeld and Birnam) (11), Ron Bell (Pitlochry) (5) and Gary Pyott (Arbroath) (5) all returning net 71s.

Stuart Baker wins Midland Alliance with a 66 at Montrose
This week he Midland Golfers’ Alliance held the Graeme Paton Team Competition at Montrose Links over the 1562 Course on Winter Greens.
Stuart Baker (Crail, 5) won the scratch prize with a great score of 66. In the Handicap section Harry Grant (Muckhart, 9) took the top prize with a net score of 63.
In the Team Competition Jim McNicoll (Panmure, 10) Davie Hutchieson (Murrayshall, 11) and Alister Duncan (Murrayshall, 4) won the top prize by 2 shots with a 53.

MIDLAND ALLIANCE RESUMES AFTER BREAK
Keir McNicoll leads way with three-under 65 at Arbroath
This week the Midland Golfers’ Alliance got back to business after a midwinter break with the Scott Arbuthnott Team Competition at Arbroath Links.
Playing on winter greens because of the hard frost, Keir McNicoll (assist pro at Carnoustie Links) led the way with a great three under par score of 65.
In the Handicap section Drew Herd (Scotscraig, 14) won with a superb net 62, which included the shot of the day, a hole in one at the 200 yard 14th hole using an 8 iron.
Keir also helped his team of Gary Pyott (Arbroath, 5) and Gary Smith (Arbroath, 5) to the top prize with 55 on a better inward half.

Fraser Robertson wins Midland Alliance meeting with a 65 at Crail
This week the Midland Golfers’ Alliance held the Ian Cooke Catering team competition at Crail Golfing Society, playing over Balcomie Links.
Leading scratch score was returned by Fraser Robertson, a Kingsbarns assistant pro, with a great score of 4 under par for a 65.
In the handicap section Jim Crawford (Dunblane New) (8) led the way with a net 63. In the team Competition Gary Tough (Edzell) (+1), Tom McLevy (Blairgowrie) (1) and Harry Grant (Muckhart) (9) won with a score of 51.
