Local favourite Alexander Levy is just one off the pace after a third-round 69 at Trophée Hassan II as Alvaro Quiros maintained his one-shot lead at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam in Morocco.
Levy birdied the third and seventh holes to make the turn two under par, and two more birdies followed on the back nine before he dropped his only shot of the day on the par three 17th hole.
The Frenchman is joined in second place on six under par by South African duo Christiaan Bezuidenhout and Erik Van Rooyen, and Finland’s Mikko Ilonen, who carded the lowest round of the tournament, a six under par 66, despite the testing conditions in Morocco.
Quiros, who is seven under par 209 through 54 holes, will go in search of his eighth European Tour title, almost a year after securing his seventh at the 2017 Rocco Forte Open.
Sharing sixth place on five under par are Canada’s Austin Connelly, and 2016 Trophée Hassan II champion Jeunghun Wang.
