Chloe Goadby leads, Shannon McWilliam T5

Scots are well to the fore at the halfway stage of the 88th Portuguese women's international amateur stroke-play championship with Stirling student Chloe Goadby from St Andrews leading the 90-strong field by two strokes and Aboyne's Shannon McWilliam sharing fifth place at West Cliffs Golf Resort, Obidos at the end of a windy day with intermittent heavy showers.
Scotland (McWilliam, Hannah McCook and Hazel MacGarvie) are also lying second in the Nations Cup competition.

Goadby had four birdies and two double bogeys in a two-over-par round of 74 to be out on her own at three-over-par 147.

McWilliam, chasing a place in the GB and I Curtis Cup squad for the June match against USA, repeated her opening 76 and is one of four players on the 152 mark.

Shannon looked to be challenging for the lead until dropping four shots over the last five holes, including a double bogey 6 at the 17th.

Next best Scot is Hannah McCook (Grantown on Spey) improved by 11 shots on her first-round with a one-over par 73 which was the best score by anyone in the second round and lifted her up to a share of 18th place.
Dutch girl Romy Meekers, who shared the first-round lead on 72 with England's Isobel Wardle, was disqualified for signing for a wrong score.
