A great turn-out of 69 competitors (21 pros and 48 amateurs) enjoyed a windy day at the re-arranged Ayrshire Winter Golf Association fixture at Western Gailes.

A great turn-out of 69 competitors (21 pros and 48 amateurs) enjoyed a windy day at the re-arranged Ayrshire Winter Golf Association fixture at Western Gailes.
Michael Paterson (Kilmalcolm), pictured, took the top professional honours with a two-under-par 69. Close behind in joint second were Derek Watters (Gourock) and Graham Fox (Clydeway Golf) with one-under 70s.
Last year's Order of Merit winner Paul O’Hara (North Lanarkshire Leisure) closed with a score of level par 71.
In the amateur ranks Jim Shearer (West Kilbride), playing off a handicap of one, shot an excellent net 71 to win the Ian McLeod Trophy after a count back with Bill McMahon (Irvine G.C ) and Duncan Scott (Royal Troon).
