+Apologies to Brian Campbell for making him an Englishman in the scores earlier in the tournament and in the first draft of this final report. I should have known with a name like Campbell, he had his roots on this side of the Border.
Here is Brian's message on his return from Portugal and, having reading the Scottishgolfview.com reports/scores.
"Although living in England for the past 37 years, I am a Scot and that, although I would have liked to have had a 69 in the final round, it was a 79! I was originally a member of King James VI GC in Perth.
"Also I was disappointed not to beat Sandy Pirie - I put a tee shot out of bounds on the 17th hole in the final round with the result that he beat me by one shot. Not bad for a six-handicapper but I doubt if I'll get that close to him again! Anyway it might be an inspiration for other lesser lights."
