Scot has albatross 2 and a double bogey at short hole

LEE RHIND MOVES
UP TO SHARE OF
EIGHTH PLACE IN
TEXAS CLASSIC

Uphall’s Lee Rhind – meantime based in Midland, Texas, had a remarkable round of four-under-par 68 to move up to a share of eighth place with one round to go in the Kingwood Classic at Kingwood, Texas today.
Rhind, pictured right, had an albatross 2 at the par-5 ninth hole to reach the turn in 31. Earlier he had birdied the second, third and sixth and bogeyed the fourth.
Coming home, he improved to six under par for the day with a birdie at the 14th and then crashed to a double-bogey 5 at the short 17th in coming home in 37 for a 68.
After a 74 in the first round, the former Scottish boys’ open stroke-play champion, who has won on both the Tight Lies Tour – the Kingwood Classic is one of its Winter Series events – and the PGA EuroPro Tour, was on the two-under-par 142 mark.
Only the leading 19 players with aggregates of 145 or better qualified for the final round.
The total prize money is $28,475.
The men the Scot has to try to catch are leader Todd Rossetti on 135 (69-66) and, more realistically, three players sharing second place on 139 – Mike Kullberg (68-71), Ryan Baca (68-71) and Chris James (73-66).
