THREE-DAY CURTIS CUP MATCH

AND THE FIRST ONE WILL BE OVER OLD
COURSE, ST ANDREWS IN 2008

The United States Golf Association and the Ladies Golf Union have decided that all future Curtis Cup matches will be over three days instead of two.
The first with a new format will be over the Old Course, St Andrews in 2008 when the third day will feature eight singles ties, meaning every player in each team will play.
Speculation has begun already that the USGA and the R&A will have talks about a similar one-day extension to the Walker Cup match.
The Walker Cup is now the only two-day international match on the golf calendar. The Curtis Cup falls in line with the Ryder Cup and the Solheim Cup.
