LADIES BRITISH OPEN AMATEUR

IT'S ANNA v BELEN FOR TITLE

Anna Nordqvist, 19, from Stockholm, played 18-year-old Spaniard, Belen Mozo from Cadiz in the final of the Ladies British open amateur championship at Royal County Down GC, Newcastle in Northern Ireland this afternoon.
Miss Nordqvist, already holder of the British girls' title, was bidding to become the first player to hold both the Under-18 and the women's championships at the same time.
Anna, who beat Krystle Caithness earlier in the championship, produced a strong finish to come back from two down after 10 to beat Spain's Maria Hernandez by 2 and 1 with five-under-par figures in the first semi-final.
Belen Mozo beat Naomi Edwards (Ganton) quite convincingly by 7 and 6 with two under par figures in the second semi-final.
Mozo was the third qualifier while Nordqvist was the 19th qualifier
