DUNCAN EXTENDS LEAD AT TOP OF BRIMMOND BISTRO ORDER OF MERIT

UPDATED NORTH EAST ALLIANCE ORDER OF MERIT STANDINGS

The Brimmond Bistro restaurant - based at Craibstone Golf Club - are sponsors of all three North-East Alliance Order of Merits for the 2015-16 season. They will offer prizes to the leading three players in the Scratch, Class 1 and Class 2 divisions after the second round of the North East Alliance Championship in late March.

SCRATCH

Kevin Duncan (PLGC) extended his lead atop the Brimmond Bistro - North East Alliance - Scratch Order of Merit, following an excellent 67 at Newburgh on Ythan in this week's fixture. Duncan now has a lead of almost a thousand points over stablemate Phil McLean who is closely chased by Newmachar's John Duff.

Terry Mathieson (Murcar Links) and Craig Lawrie (PLGC) both broke into the top 10 following scores of 70 and 68 respectively yesterday - whilst Craig's father Paul Lawrie (Carnegie Club) and PLGC player Laura Murray both broke into the top 30 following Paul's score of 66 (yesterdays winning score) and Laura's level par 71.

CLASS 1
The top 3 in the Class 1 Handicap Order of Merit remain unchanged with Gavin Chalmers (Alford) still in 1st place, Scott Mackie (Kemnay) in 2nd and Bon Accord's David Leslie in 3rd place.

The biggest movers in this section include Fergus Bisset (Banchory) who has moved 8 spaces from 12th to 4th and Deeside's Mike Duncan who has jumped 6 spots from 20th to 14th. The only new entry in this week's top 20 is yesterday's winner - Ritchie Davidson (Caledonian) - who moves to 19th spot.

CLASS 2
As with Class 1 - the top 3 remain unchanged - with Hazlehead's Stephen Ross still leading the Class 2 Order of Merit. He is ahead of Jim Stewart (Banchory) in 2nd place, and Gary Homer (Northern) who is third.

With no new entrants into the top 20 and only one substantial move, it was a quiet week for this section. That big move came in the form of Aboyne's Donald Lawrie who improved his position from 14th to 6th.
