NEWS RELEASE

Trump Turnberry has officially closed the doors to its hotel building and Ailsa course as The Trump Organization commences its £200m renovation of this iconic golf resort in south Ayrshire..
The highly anticipated upgrade of the historic 1906 hotel includes a complete renovation, restoration and remodelling of all guestrooms, suites, corridors, restaurants and public spaces. Additionally, Trump Turnberry will soon boast a 500 person grand ballroom which will be the finest of its kind. Changes to the great Ailsa Championship course are also now underway starting with the dramatic renovation of the 9th hole into what is anticipated to be one of the greatest par 3’s anywhere the world.

“My father and I have assembled a world-class team consisting of the best architects, contractors and restoration specialists. When completed, Trump Turnberry will be the most luxurious hotel anywhere in the UK and beyond,” stated Eric Trump, Executive Vice President of Development and Acquisitions for The Trump Organization. “Having already completed vast renovations to the magnificent golf clubhouse and select public areas, we are thrilled to move into the second phase of our major renovation.”

Trump Turnberry is working with Fife-based project management company, Hardies and has appointed ISG PLC, one of the most prestigious contractors in the UK, to carry out this iconic renovation.
ISG has an impressive track record and was carefully selected by The Trump Organization from a record number of bidders, all who competed diligently to be a part of this incredible project.

The Turnberry Lighthouse will also undergo dramatic and exciting changes with the creation of the highly anticipated Presidential Suite, which will provide unprecedented views of Ailsa Craig and the Firth of Clyde. The brand new halfway house, located within the lighthouse, will be spectacular and, when completed, will be the most iconic in all of golf.

Throughout the nine month renovation, the brand new world-class golf club house, unveiled in June 2015, is open for business along with The Trump Villas and The Spa at Turnberry.  Tee times are available to members and guests on the Kintyre, a challenging and spectacular 18-hole course --- a favourite among members and locals alike.

Trump Turnberry will re-open in its full glory in June 2016. When completed, this historic asset, one that is home to not only the birthplace of Robert the Bruce but also to four of golf’s most exciting Open Championships including the famed “Duel in the Sun.”

Trump Turnberry will soon shine brighter than ever before and will provide guests and visitors the highest levels of luxury and quality which are synonymous with the Trump gold standard.

Cameron and McLean inside top 14 in

Germany and Robb should make cut

Ellon's Ross Cameron (Saltire Energy) and Peterhead's Philip McLean (Paul Lawrie Golf Centre) are within the leading 14 players as the German PGA Developmental Tour's Castanea Open at Adendorf, Germany enters its third and last round on Wednesday.
Cameron is joint 11th on 142 with rounds of 70 and 72. His second round included five birdies but he needed them to cancel out five bogeys. Ross is 10 shots behind lear Benjamin Rusch (Switzerland) (65-67 for 132)
McLean has had two steady rounds of 72 and 71 for 143. But for a double bogey 6 at the 18th he would have been in the top 10.
Former Scottish amateur champion Chris Robb (Meldrum House) had a double bogey 5 at the short eighth in his second round 73 for 149.
He is currently joint 47th and should make the cut. Two hours' play were lost on Day 2 because of fog and several players will not complete their second rounds until early Wednesday morning.
The leading 75 and ties will make the cut.

TOMATIN 54-hole pro-am report and scores

McKechnie and Fenwick lead chase for £5,200

first prize but two shots span leading eight

By COLIN FARQUHARSON
Paul McKechnie (Braid Hills) and Dunbar's Neil Fenwick lead the chase for the £5,200 first pro prize as the Tomatin 54-hole pro-am tournament moves into its third and final round over Castle Stuart, Nairn and Royal Dornoch.
Both are on the 136 mark but for Fenwick that represents a seven-under-par total, he having played Nairn (par 71) and Castle Stuart (par 72), while McKechnie is six Castle Stuart and Royal Dornoch (par 70).
On paper, two strokes span the leading eight players but the courses over which they have to play their final rounds could play a big part in the final outcome.
Fenwick's final 18 holes on Wednesday are over Royal Dornoch while McKechnie plays Nairn.
One shot behind them are Paul O'Hara (Clydeway Golf), Christopher Currie (Caldwell), Greg McBain (Paul Lawrie Golf Centre) and Ross Kellett (Paul Lawrie Golf Centre).
O'Hara signs off at Royal Dornoch, Currie at Castle Stuart, McBain at Castle Stuart and Kellett at Nairn.
The top 10 finishers will all receive four-figure cheques.

McKechnie's three-under-par 67 at Royal Dornoch was the lowest score at any of three courses in the second round, which suggests the Glasgow 38-year-old has quickly recaptured the form that saw him win a string of events, capped by the Paul Lawrie Invitational at Deeside. .

Jordan Spieth’s ex-teacher caddie earned more

than $2 million for the US PGA Tour season

Michael Greller was a sixth-grade teacher at Narrows View Intermediate School in University Place, Washington, reportedly earning $77,000 a year, when Jordan Spieth hired him to caddie in 2013.
Greller took a leave of absence, beginning in January of that year, and when he soon realised that Spieth had a future in the game tendered his resignation to the school authorities in May.
Good move.

We can’t know the financial arrangements that Spieth and Greller have, so for this exercise we’ll go with a standard five percent of Spieth’s purse, seven percent for a top 10, and 10 percent for a victory (meanwhile disregarding the weekly stipend players usually pay their caddies, regardless of performance).
On that basis alone, Greller earned $1,040,613 during the PGA Tour’s 2014-’15 wraparound season. Throw in another $100,000 for Spieth’s victory in the unofficial Hero World Challenge and about $85,000 for Spieth winning the Australian Open and Greller’s take for those 12 months moves to $1,225,613.
Then there is Spieth’s $10 million bonus for winning the FedEx Cup. There is no reason to believe that Spieth would not follow Billy Horschel’s example from the year before of giving his caddie a 10 percent share of that, too. Spieth frequently credits Greller for helping him succeed.
So throw another $1 million on the pile and it’s possible that Greller, the former sixth-grade teacher turned caddie, earned $2,225,613.
Greller would have had to teach another 29 years at $77,000 per year to earn that although he would have had a pay rise every so often!
