Jimmy Gunn's double-eagle finish wins the

Colorado Open

Dornoch exile Jimmy Gunn has followed up his second-place finish in the San Juan Open by winning the Colorado Open at Green Valley Ranch Golf Club at the weekend.
Gunn earned $23,000 plus a lnjaotrophy for his latest victory in the States where he has campaigned since he turned pro and left the Highlands to set up a base at Scottsdale, Arizona.
Gunn has managed to make money on the satellite tours in America even though a player has too shoot double digit under par to have a chance in their tournaments.
Jimmy was 21 under par in finishing second in the San Juan Open and 19 under par in winning the Colorado Open.
Gunn trailed Americans Zakhai Brown and Ian Davis for most of the 72-hole event but covered the final 36 holes in 13 under par - 66 and 64 - to sweep to the front with a double-eagle finish.
In his final round, he birdied the fourth, sixth and ninth for 33 to the turn.
Another birdie at the 10th put him four under for the day. Then came an eagle 3 at the long 12th followed by an eagle 2 at the par-4 15th.
That was enough to take him into the pole position. Guun could even afford the luxury of a bogey a the 18th as he signed off tieh a 65 for 19-under 269 and a one-shot win from Brown (68-270) and by four from the third-placed Davis (71-273)

Jason Day birdies last three holes to win Canadian Open

NEWS RELEASE
Australian Jason Day has won the Canadian Open with three birdies in his closing three holes.
Firing 4-under 68 in the final round for a tournament total of 17-under 271, Day won the title by one shot from American Bubba Watson with Canadian David Hearn a further shot back.
Heading to the 18th Day was one clear of Watson and Hearn and was determined to claim the victory.
With memories of his putt on 18 at St Andrews to make The Open playoff finishing short fresh in his memory, Day drained a monster putt, from just inside 22 feet, at Glen Abbey's 18th today to seal the win.
"First thing I said was I've got to get to the hole this time, that's what I said in my head," commented Day.
"I gave myself an opportunity out there and I took it which was great."
"To be able to do that it gives me a lot more confidence going into the rest of the season," added Day.

"Right now I'm just going to try and soak it in as much as possible, I played great all week and I'm very happy with how I performed."
This victory also puts an end to the questions marks surrounding Day's health, his collapse at the US Open due to vertigo sending shock waves around the world.
"I feel good, I feel really good. I'm going to take next week off, the last two weeks have been a big grind," added Day.
"But it's all worth it, all the hard work I've put into it, this is the fourth win of my career and hopefully I'll have many more but right now I'm so proud to be the Canadian Open champion."
This is Day's second win on the US PGA Tour in 2015; he also came from behind to win the Famers Insurance Open in February.
"Jason Day is a determined competitor every week on Tour which is evident by his two victories this year," said Brian Thorburn, CEO of the PGA of Australia.
"He is an exciting talent for Aussie golf fans and indeed golf fans around the world to watch and support, I am pleased to see his hard work being rewarded with victories."
"Day's turnaround from the US Open and The Open is remarkable and is a true testament to his strength of character, he is a wonderful ambassador for Australian golf and I am sure it won't be long until we see him win that coveted Major."
Day becomes the third Australian to have won the Canadian Open since 1984. Greg Norman was victorious in 1984 and 1992 followed more recently by Nathan Green in 2009.
It has been a successful week for PGA Tour of Australasia Professionals with New Zealander Ryan Fox winning wire-to-wire at the Challenge Tour's Le Vaudreuil Golf Challenge in France.
"This trip is my first time to Europe, and I have played well," said the 28-year-old who is a two time winner on the PGA Tour of Australasia.
"France was my dad's (Grant Fox) favourite place to tour when he was playing with the All Blacks. I think it's the same for me. It's my favourite place in the world at the moment."

South of Scotland Seniors Open
at Dumfries and County
By GORDON THOMSON
The Scottish Seniors Golfing Society circuit moves to Dumfries and County on Thursday and Friday for the South of Scotland Seniors Open, sponsored by McCrea Financial Services.
There is a good entry for the event with a mix of ages and handicaps and all are looking forward to the challenge of playing one of the finest parkland courses in  Scotland.
Ronnie Clark (Erskine) is defending the title which he won at Stranraer last year and he will be keen to add to his wins at Elgin and Glenbervie earlier this season.
Lindsay Blair (Grangemouth) leads the Order of Merit race which he won in 2013 and will be looking to extend his narrow lead over Paul Moultrie (Royal Troon) and senior international captain, David Gardner (Broomieknowe).
Gordon MacDonald (Glenbervie) fresh from his great win in the Matchplay Championship at Stirling will be hoping to continue his good form while local favourite, Ian Brotherston will fancy his chances on his home course as will clubmate Muir Townsley, who was runner-up to  MacDonald in the Matchplay Championship.
