Russell Knox finished T35 but still had Padraig Harrington (T73) behind him in the final totals at this week's US PGA Tour, the $4million Sanderson Farms Championship at Jackson Country Club, Mississippi, played in the shadow of the WGC-HSBC tournament of stars at Shanghai.
Knox had scores of 72, 70, 73 and 69 for 284.
Harrington, a shadow of the major-winning force he once was, shot 70, 69, 76 and 76 for 291.
England's Greg Owen was the highest placed finisher from this side of the Atlantic, thanks to a fine final round of 66 for 281 and a share of 22nd place.
Canadian rookie Nick Taylor scored his first success on the US PGA Tour and won the $1million first prize by a couple of strokes with a 16-under-par total of 272. He had scores of 69, 70, 66 and 67.

Comrie's Wallace Booth, Duncan Stewart (Grantown on Spey) and Neil Fenwick (Dunbar) will qualify for the European Tour Final Qualifying School IF they can maintain their present Stage 2 positions through Monday's final rounds at the four Spanish venues.
With only the leading 16 and 17 plus ties going forward from each venue, the rest of the 17 Scots bidding to make it to the Big League next year will have to go low, in some cases, very low, if they are to be among the qualifiers.
Wallace Booth, whose pro career has been hampered by a recurring shoulder injury, is in a three-way tie for the lead at El Saler Golf Club, Valencia with rounds of 73, 68 and 69 for six-under 210.
Booth had seven birdies and four bogeys in his third round.
Also at El Saler Jamie McLeary (218) is tied 18th, Jack Doherty joint 26th on 219, David Law joint 37th on 221 while Elliot Saltman is sharing 48th place on 223.
McLeary's third-round 71 was his best yet but Doherty's 75 was his worst. Law has found it difficult to repeat his first-round 71 form. Since then the Aberdonian has gone 76-74. Third-round bogeys at the 16th, 17th and 18th probably spelled the end of his European Tour hopes for another year.
Saltman has lost form at the wrong time with rounds of 77, 70 and 76
Neil Fenwick is joint 14th on five-under 208 at Lumine, Tarragona. The Dunbar man has scored 72, 67 and 69. Another sub-70 should clinch his place among the qualifiers but George Murray, joint 26th on 210 with scores of 71, 69 and 70 needs to shoot around the 66 mark to have a chance.
Duncan Stewart hoisted himself into the mix at Panoramica (Castellon) on Saturday with a brilliant round of nine-under 63, 12 shots better than his opening round. A third-round 67 has him in the qualifying zone but another sub-70 score would clinch it for the Highlander.
Ross Kellett is joint 21st on 207 after scores of 71, 68 and 68. The Motherwell man needs at least another 68, probably less, to have a real chance of finishing in the top 16 or 17.
Also at Panoramica, Lloyd Saltman's eight-under-par tally of 208 has him only in joint 28th place, so low is the scoring at this venue. The Archerfield man, who had seven birdies in his third round, has scored 73-67-68. He may need to go as low as 64 to gatecrash the leading 16 or 17.
Raymond Russell, joint 25th on four-under 209, leads the five Scots at Las Colinas (Alicante). He has scored 68-68-71 and needs to get well under 70 at the last time of asking.
Scottish amateur champion Chris Robb (Meldrum House) will probably head for the Asian Tour Q School as a joint 38th place on 210 looks to have him out of the running at Las Colinas. Robb has shot 69, 72 and 69.
Alexander Culverwell (Dunbar), a Scottish amateur champion of an earlier vintage and still playing as an amateur, is down among the dead men in joint 54th place on 213. He peaked too soon with a first-round 66, followed by rounds of 73 and 74.

Delhi:  S S P Chowrasia clinched his third Asian Tour title at the Panasonic Open India after defeating Rahil Gangjee of India and Sri Lanka’s Mithun Perera on the first extra hole today.

The popular Indian coolly rolled in a 15-footer birdie in extra time to cap a sensational comeback as he was five shots off the lead at the start of the day at the US $300,000 event sanctioned by the Asian Tour and Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI).

With his trademark short game in full display at the Delhi Golf Club, Chowrasia returned with the day’s low score of six-under-par 66 highlighted by eight birdies to finish on 12-under-par 276.

“I worked very hard for this win because I wanted to boost my confidence. It is three years since I last won and I will take a lot of positives from the win,” said the 36-year-old Chowrasia, who won his first Asian Tour title at the 2008 Indian Masters on the same venue.

“I’ve lost in two play-offs before but it never crossed my mind. I was focused on making the birdie putt in the play-off. I always had the belief that I could win on the Asian Tour again and I did,” he smiled.

Bernhard Langer has completed a memorable 2014 season by topping the Money List on the US Champions Tour for a sixth time in seven seasons.
The Florida-based German, pictured, who last week secured the Charles Schwab Cup for a second time, finished tied fourth in the Charles Schwab Cup Championship last Sunday
The result was Langer’s 18th top ten finish in 21 appearances on the Champions Tour in 2014, a campaign that yielded five victories overall including a runaway win in The Senior Open Championship Presented by Rolex at Royal Porthcawl in Wales.
It was the third season in a row that the 2004 European Ryder Cup Captain topped the Champions tour Money List, and he reached another career milestone when he broke Hale Irwin’s single-season earnings records, finishing the season with $3,074,189.
“It’s still mind-boggling to reflect on my year,” said Langer, who also lost in a play-off to Paul Wesselingh in the WINSTONgolf Senior Open in his homeland on the European Senior Tour.

“When you think about it, you play golf from January until now, it's ten months, and to have played as consistently well as I've done in 20 tournaments is hard to believe really.  I'm extremely blessed to have played this well.”
The two-time Masters Tournament winner has 23 Champions Tour victories and is now more than halfway to the record of 45 victories held by Hale Irwin, and just six behind second placed Lee Trevino in the all-time list.

Not bad for a player whose earlier career was at one time threatened by the putting yipps!
Another European Senior Tour Member, Scotland’s Colin Montgomerie, finished the season in second place on the Money List, following a fine season in which he won both the US Senior PGA Championship  and the US Senior Open, and finished runner up to Langer in The Senior Open Championship.
However. Montgomerie came out on top in the European Senior Tour Order of Merit, winning a further two titles – the Travis Perkins Masters and the Russian Open Golf Championship (Senior) – to add to his Major double. He will receive the John Jacobs Trophy at the MCB Tour Championship in Mauritius next month.
It sets up a mouth-watering prospect of the pair renewing their battle on both sides of the Atlantic in 2015, with the evergreen 57 year old Langer showing no signs of slowing down.
“I have to be healthy to play, I've got to enjoy it and I've got to have some success, which goes hand in hand,” said Langer. “With my faith, if the Lord tells me to do something else, I might pack it in tomorrow and do something else if that's what my calling is. Right now my calling is to be out here and play golf.”

England’s Paul Wesselingh had to settle for fourth place in the Fujifilm Senior Championship in Japan after carding a one under par 71 in the final round.
The 2013 European Senior Tour Order of Merit winner was eight under par and at the top of the leaderboard after two rounds, but was pipped to the title by Kiyoshi Murota, who finished with a seven under par 65 and a 14 under par total of 274 – three shots clear of Thailand’s Boonchu Ruangkit.
Another Englishman, Simon P Brown, finished tied eighth on seven under par.
The final tournament of the 2014 European enior Tour season takes place next month at the MCB Tour Championship in Mauritius, where Scotland’s Colin Montgomerie will receive the John Jacobs Trophy for topping the money list.

Two moments of magic on Sheshan International’s 18th hole saw Bubba Watson win the WGC-HSBC Champions after a play-off with Tim Clark on a dramatic final day in Shanghai, China. 
The two-time Masters Tournament champion looked to have thrown away his chance of victory with a dropped shot at the 16th and a double bogey on the penultimate hole, but the left-hander sensationally holed a bunker shot for eagle at the 72nd hole to tie South African Clark on 11 under. And the US Ryder Cup player sank a 20ft birdie putt on the first trip back down the 18th to seal his first World Golf Championships victory.
Watson was two shots clear with three holes to play, only to bogey the 16th and run up a double bogey on the 17th after failing to escape a greenside bunker at the first attempt.
That dropped the 36 year old one shot behind playing partners Clark and Rickie Fowler, as well as the final group of Graeme McDowell, Hiroshi Iwata and Martin Kaymer.Clark looked in pole position when he hit his third shot to the par five 18th to four feet and saw Fowler find the water and Watson a greenside bunker.
However, Watson then holed his third and Clark's birdie was only good enough to leave the pair tied on 11 under, with the final group needing to birdie the last to join the play-off.
Kaymer's chances disappeared when his approach flew over the green into the water, while McDowell and Iwata missed from 18 and 12 feet respectively.
Clark and Watson returned to the 18th for the play-off and Watson found the same greenside bunker with his second shot after Clarke had hit his third to around 20 feet.
Watson was unable to repeat his heroics from the sand but after Clark had left his birdie attempt short, the left-hander holed his birdie putt.
Fowler, long-time leader McDowell and Iwata tied for third place a shot behind the play-off participants.

"The pin placings were evil at times and you really had to be on your iron play to have a chance to access them, and I didn't play well enough. 
"The putter that was so hot early in the week kind of cooled off this weekend. But to finish tied third in this type of field, not playing my best, I have to count myself fairly fortunate. 
"Of course I'd love to have made the play-off. I had a decent putt at the last but over‑read it a bit.  I’m disappointed but I'll look back on it as a solid week.”

“The third shot came off very, very hot and flew the green, which is surprising for me. After nine holes I thought the winning score might be 14 under par. I missed chances on the front nine, but it was all about the last two holes and I didn’t play them well enough. But I can take a lot of positives out of the week. I played really well and I have another two or three big tournaments to go this year.”

“I never expected to be in that position at the start of the week. I fought hard and I knew I needed to birdie that play-off hole, especially with him being able to reach in two. I'm pleased overall but I’m obviously disappointed to be that close. You probably play better when you're not expecting a whole lot. I just tried to play this course smart and in the end it was enough to give me a shout.”

JOHN ROLLINS LEADS BY TWO

JACKSON, Mississippi: John Rollins took a two-stroke lead Saturday in the Sanderson Farms Championship, birdieing two of the final five holes for a 4-under 68.
Tied with David Toms for the second-round lead, Rollins had a three-round total of 14-under 202. He won the last of his three US PGA Tour titles in 2009.
''Today was a little bit more of a grind than the last couple of days,'' Rollins said. ''I didn't drive it quite as well today, so I was playing out of the rough, which on this golf course is not fun. But I made some key putts to keep the round going and just grinded out a 4-under par to keep myself in position.''

William McGirt was second after a 66, matching the best round of the day in sunny, calm conditions.
Jason Bohn and Lucas Glover were third at 11 under. Bohn also shot 66, and Glover had a 67.
''If we have weather similar to what we had today, there's definitely a 6-, 7-, 8-under par out there, maybe even lower than that,'' Bohn said. ''Anybody that's within six shots of the lead has a chance to win.
Toms and Canada's Nick Taylor were 10 under. Toms had a 72, and Taylor shot 70. After two bogey-free rounds, Toms bogeyed Nos. 4-6. He birdied Nos. 7, 10 and 18, holing a 31-footer on the final hole.
''At least I didn't shoot myself out of the tournament,'' said Toms, a 13-time US PGA Tour winner.
The 39-year-old Rollins has limited tour status as a past champion after losing his card last season and failing to regain it in the four-event Web.com Tour Finals.
He said a driving-range tip from his caddie Wednesday helped him dial it back on the tee box, and the result was much more consistent play with his driver.
''A lot can change in one week,'' Rollins said. ''But the big thing is I can't get ahead of myself. I can't start thinking about where I am and what's going on, and status and all this sort of stuff. I've just got to play golf, and that's what we're going to try to do and try to enjoy it.''
Rollins has at least a share of the 54-hole lead for the sixth time in his career. After failing to win the first four times, he held on in the last in the 2009 Barracuda Championship in Reno, Nevada.

KYLE GODSMAN WINS TWO IN A ROW

Moray Golf Club member Kyle Godsman from Hopeman, who played the US college golf circuit for four years as a student at the University of South Caroline-Aiken, won for the second consecutive week with a three-under-par 66 in Saturday's North Scottish Golfers' Alliance fixture at Torvean Golf Club, Inverness. 

This year's North of Scotland open amateur stroke-play championship runner-up - he was beaten in a play-off - bogeyed the first, fifth and 15th, compensating with six birdies, at the third, fourth, eighth, 10th, 11th, and 13th, to win by a single shot from local club champion Bruce Thomson. 

Jeff Wright (Forres) had the lowest front nine of  31 and eagled the 10th but dropped four shots after that to finish third on 68.
