DUNBAR PLAYER IN JOINT EIGHTH PLACE AFTER TWO ROUNDS

AMATEUR DANNY KAY LEADING SCOT

IN MENA TOUR EVENT IN OMAN

Dunbar amateur Danny Kay is the leading Scot with one round to play in this week's MENA Tour $50,000, 54-hole event at Ghala Valley Golf Club, Oman.
Kay, a former beaten finalist in the Scottish amateur championship and winner of the South-east Disttrict Open earlier this season, has had rounds of 72 and 70 for a tally of two-under--par 142.
Tied eighth, he is five shots behind the leader by four, Zane Scotland (England) who has scored 68 and 69 for seven-under-par 137.
Scotland leads by four shots from six players on 141.
Sam Kiloh (Paul Lawrie Golf Centre) from Portlethen is joint 11th on 143 after rounds of 71 and 72.
Paul Doherty, South Wales-based former Scottish boys' match-play champion, is tied 15th with rounds of 73 and 72 for 145 - a shot ahead of Clarke Lutton (73-73) who is joint 24th.
Ex-pat Tom Buchanan dropped back to a share of 34th place on 148 with rounds of 72 and 76.
