JUSTIN ROSE SIGNS A NEW FIVE-YEAR DEAL WITH TAYLORMADE AND ASHWORTH

A new year, and the big deals keep on coming, this time with reigning U.S. Open champion Justin Rose re-signing with TaylorMade Golf and Ashworth Golf.
Rose posted on Twitter:
"Pleased to say that I have re-signed with @Taylormadegolf and ashworthgolf for another five years.
He added an Instagram collage:

Justin Rose announced on Twitter that he had re-signed with TaylorMade and Ashworth Golf for five years.

Rose not only won the U.S. Open, but also had seven top-10 finishes in only 17 starts on the US PGA Tour in 2013, earning just over $4.1 million. His worst finishes of the year were a pair of T-33s, making 15 of 17 cuts.

EUROPEAN TOUR'S NEW CUP MOVE UPSETS BALLESTEROS FAMILY

The family of Seve Ballesteros has accused the European Tour of being "disrespectful" to the late five-time major winner over its plans to host an inaugural EurAsia Cup event in Malaysia in March.

The European Tour launched the new match-play event between Asia and Europe last month after removing its sanction from the Royal Trophy, a similar team match-play tournament which had been launched in 2006 by Ballesteros, who died in May 2011.
Ballesteros' brother Vicente has criticised the new event, and in particular the claim by European Tour chief executive George O'Grady that the Ballesteros family had lent their support to the venture.
Vicente Ballesteros said: "I am certain that Seve would have found this proposal to be in very bad taste and very disrespectful.
"Mr O'Grady has also said that this new proposed event is supported by the Ballesteros family. Whenever anyone talks in public about any family, that person must be very careful. "I wonder what he means. My brother Baldomero and I do not support this new proposed event at all. In fact we find this attempt disrespectful and I personally find it incredible that anyone takes the liberty to talk on Seve's behalf.
"We support the Royal Trophy and find this new proposed event to be misleading and very bad. I never imagined some people could go so far."
A spokesman for the European Tour said they would be issuing no comment in response to Ballesteros' claims.

Camberley Heath Golf Club experienced an attempted burglary on the night of December 22.
The thieves drove into the main entrance of the doors of the Clubhouse between 9.40pm – 10.30pm causing significant damage to the entrance. The thieves gained access to the building, however were not successful in stealing anything.
Surrey Police are appealing for witnesses. It is believed that a 4 x 4 was used in the ram raid which would have had significant damage to the rear, Surrey Police would like to hear from anyone who may have seen such a vehicle or seen one that has been abandoned. Anyone who you can help should contact Surrey Police on 101 quoting reference 45130008594
Office Manager Stuart Dubber said: “’I am extremely saddened by the incident, especially over the Christmas period. We are thankful that nothing was stolen; I would like to thank Surrey Police for their help with the incident. If anyone has any information please contact the police.”
