TIGER TO TAKE PART IN SPECTACULAR PHOTO-SHOOT IN TURKEY

FROM THE REUTERS GOLF NEWS SERVICE
By Tony Jimenez
ISTANBUL - Tiger Woods features in a stroke-play event for the first time in six weeks at the Turkish Airlines Open starting on Thursday and will herald his return by taking part in a spectacular Bosphorus Bridge photoshoot.
The world number one is due to arrive in Istanbul by helicopter on Tuesday before becoming the first golfer to hit balls from East to West on the iconic bridge that separates the continents of Europe and Asia.
Woods will then travel down to the south-western city of Antalya on the Mediterranean coast to take on Europe's finest in the $7 million tournament at the Montgomerie Maxx Royal course.
The 14-times major winner also played in last year's invitational eight-man World Golf Final in Turkey but this season marks the first time the country has hosted an official European Tour event.
"I had a great time during my first visit to Turkey... and I'm looking forward to playing there once again," Woods said in a news release.
He has not played a strokeplay competition since finishing tied for 22nd place at the Tour Championship in Atlanta in September, the final event of the U.S. PGA Tour's money-spinning FedExCup series.
Among the 37-year-old American's title rivals this week will be U.S. Open champion and World Golf Final winner Justin Rose.
"It's going to be fun to play in Turkey again," said the 33-year-old Briton. "It's great for Turkey to have an event in the Final Series."
This week's tournament is the penultimate event in the inaugural Final Series, the European Tour's new FedExCup equivalent.
Rose is third in the Race To Dubai money list on 1.87 million euros ($2.53 million), behind Graeme McDowell (2.05 million) and FedExCup winner Henrik Stenson (2.20 million) with just the Turkish Open and DP World Tour Championship in Dubai to come.
Ian Poulter, fourth on the list with earnings of 1.66 million euros, will look to go one better in Antalya than his second-place finish to American Dustin Johnson in last week's WGC-Champions Tournament in Shanghai.
Former world number one Lee Westwood also features in the 78-man line-up this week but Rory McIlroy, Luke Donald and Sergio Garcia are absentees.
First prize is worth 848,930 euros.

FENWICK, MURRAY, RUSSELL AND JACK DOHERTY IN Q ZONE WITH A ROUND TO GO IN STAGE 2 EVENTS

By COLIN FARQUHARSON
 Colin@scottishgolfview.com
ONLY four of the 13 Scots taking part in the European Tour Qualifying School Stage 2 events at four venues in Spain will make it to the Final eliminator if they maintain their third-round positions over Tuesday's final 18 holes.
Raymond Russell (70) and Jack Doherty (67) are lying joint seventh on 205 at Lumine Golf and Beach Resort, Tarragona from where the leading 17 will progress to PGA Catalunya on November 10.
Neil Fenwick (73 for 211) is lying third and George Murray (72 for 215) joint ninth at El Saler Golf Club, Valencia where the top 17 will go forward.
Northern Open champion David Law found his form with a four-under-par 67 on the third day at Lumine.
That  bogey-free, four birdie effort lifted the 22-year-old Aberdonian up to joint 35th place which means Law has to do even better in the final round to have a chance of being one of the 17 leaders who will go forward from this venue.
At present, the top 16 at Lumine are at six under par or better. Law is on three-under 210, so he needs to improve to a final total of seven or eight under par to keep alive his hopes of making it to the European Tour before he is much older.
Further behind Law at this venue are Paul Doherty, joint 49th on 213, and Elliot Saltman, joint 70th on 218.
At El Saler, Lloyd Saltman and Paul Ferrier are joint 27th on 219. Saltman had a third-round 74, Ferrier a 723.
Aberdour amateur Scott Crichton had a disastrous 77 at this venue and is now joint 36th on 221, eight shots better than Wallace Booth (78 for 229) in joint 65th spot.
The Stage 2 event at Valle Romano Golf, Estepona is running behind schedule after no third rounds were completed due to high winds. The fourth round will be played on Wednesday at this venue.
Paul McKechnie is joint 32nd and Calum Macaulay joint 59th at this venue.
Welshman Gareth Wright is walking a tightrope at Las Colinas Golf and Country Club, Alicante. He is in joint 17th place on 209 after a third-round 69. The top 17 will advance from this venue.

Here are the results from the Scottish Junior Golf Tour event at the Fairmont St Andrews yesterday on the Kittocks course. Thanks have to go to the green staff of the Fairmont for having greens in such great condition at this time of year. It was a level  4 and 5 event including the Sussex county squad who were in St Andrews for the weekend.
On a day when perhaps golf should not have been played due to the very strong cold wind, no one managed a nett score in the buffer zone. All the youngsters showed great fortitude in completing the round.
Colin Edgar, playing in the last group, staggered in nearly numb with the best score of the day with five over par 76. Murray McCrone led the Under 15s with 79.

COUPLES AND PERRY BOTH WINNERS AT CHAMPIONS' TOUR FINALE

KENNY PERRY with the Charles Schwab Cup.
FROM THE US CHAMPIONS TOUR WEBSITE
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- Fred Couples won the Champions Tour's season-ending Charles Schwab Cup Championship on Sunday, and Kenny Perry topped the year-long points race to earn a $1 million annuity.
Couples ended a 16-event winless streak dating to the Senior British Open in July 2012, closing with a 2-under 69 for a six-stroke victory over Bernhard Langer, Peter Senior and Mark O'Meara. He has nine victories in four seasons on the 50-and-over tour after winning 15 times on the US PGA Tour.
"It's great to win. It seems like four years ago," Couples said. "Now I have 60 days to lose all my momentum."
After playing 15 events on the Champions Tour this year and finishing third in the points race, Couples indicated he was going to play at least two or three more events next year and take a shot at winning the Charles Schwab Cup. His points finish earned him a bonus $300,000 annuity.

"I'd like to have the kind of year Kenny had," Couples said. "The goal is to win the Cup. The goal is to play."
Couples finished at 17-under 267 at TPC Harding Park.
"This year, I wouldn't call it a waste, but it was a waste as far as not winning," he said. "This week was different. I did not miss many shots. I got the lead and I kept it. I'm not a fierce competitor but I love the competition. Just winning, even if it's a club championship, you're thrilled."
Langer, second behind Perry in the Charles Schwab Cup standings, shot a 67. Senior had a 69, and O'Meara closed with a double bogey for a 70.
Perry had a 68 to share fifth place at 10 under. He led the tour with three victories, taking the Senior Players Championship and U.S. Senior Open in consecutive tour starts and winning the AT&T Championship last week in San Antonio.
"It's been a magical season," said Perry, who was accompanied by his wife, three daughters, their husbands and a couple of grandchildren.
"This is my highest accomplishment. I've been close to winning a major on the US PGA Tour and to finally win a few this year, it's the things dreams are made of."
Couples earned $440,000 and finished fourth on the Champions Tour money list with $1,706,812. Langer topped the money list with $2,448,428, and Perry was second at $2,241,188.
