JOHN HENRY LEADS ALLIANCE CHSHIP BY 5

Clydebank and District professional John Henry looks set to win the Scottish Alliance championship at Monifieth Links tomorrow The PGA EuroPro Tour campaigner, 20-year-old younger brother of former Scottish boys and stroke-play amateur champion now on the Challenge Tour, leads the field by five strokes after matching the Monifieth par of 71 in his second round today.. The qualifiers all play their third and final round at Monifieth. Joint second are Braehead pro Jamie Stevenson, and two amateurs, George Finlay, who plays off +2 at Ballumbie Castle, and Newmachar's John Duff who has a +1 handicap. There is a consolation tournament for the non-qualifiers. It will be played at Arbroath.
