Greig Hutcheon has taken up the running in the £30,000 Paul Lawrie Invitational over three rounds at Deeside Golf Club.
The Banchory tour pro shot a four-under-par 66 today for a six-under 36-hole tally of 134.
He leads by one shot from Glenmuir PGA champion Gareth Wright (West Linton) (68-67) and Greg McBain (Gamola Golf) (67-68).
Wright got his bad holes out of the way quickly with bogeys at the fourth and short fifth although he did stumble again at the 13th. On the credit side, the Welshman birdied the long sixth, got an eagle 2 at the eighth and birdied the ninth, short 14th and 17th.
Overnight leader Terry Mathieson (Murcar Links) did not day - and 10 players swept past him as he returned a 75 (10 more than his opening effort) for 140.
Paul Lawrie writes:
"I teed off at 8 30am this morning which was the first game. It was  lovely morning with just a little breeze.   Again the greens were very good but I struggled to take advantage, eventually signing for a two-under 68 which was ok but should have been lower.
"Greig Hutcheon is now the leader on six-under 134.   My son Craig was disapointed with his 77 but it's all very good experience for him."
