SAM BINNING LEADING EDEN QUALIFIER

Ranfurly Castle's Sam Binning was the leading qualifier for the match-play stages of the Eden Tournament at St Andrews today (Tuesday). He added a 71 to an opening 69 for a level par tally of 140 - two shots ahead of Matthew Hogg (Rushcliffe) (72-70)
More than 230 players took part in the qualifying rounds.

WILLIAM SHARPE'S LANARKSHIRE NEWS

The James Brown Team Trophy takes place at Drumpellier Golf Club on Sunday August 19th first tee off  12 o'clock.
All clubs can submit up to three teams of three.
Winning team will represent Lanarkshire at Scottish Final on Sunday September 30th at Arbroath Golf Club.
Keiran Stark of Crow Wood is the new Lanarkshire Boys Matchplay Champion for 2012.
He beat Kevin Prentice of Lanark at the 22nd hole in a very closely contested match.
In the semi-finals Keiran beat Blair Murphy of Lanark by two holes and Kevin beat Calum Harrison ( The Strokeplay Champion ) by one hole.
All the games were played at Carluke Golf Club.
The County Strokeplay Championship which was postponed due to bad weather has been rescheduled for Sunday august 26th.
The draw sheet is same as the original.
There are still a few spaces. 
Stewart Henderson still leads the Lanarkshire Order of Merit Salver after the Bothwell Castle Quaich.
