Donald Trump links architect in running to design Olympic Games course

Martin Hawtree, pictured, the Englishman who has, by all accounts, done a world-class design for the Trump Scotland International links at Balmedie, north of Aberdeen, is among the bidders to be given the contract for designing a new course at Rio de Janeiro for the return of golf to the Olympic Games programme in Brazil in 2016 (August 5 to 21).
Golf was last an Olympic Games sport in 1904. 
According to a Golf Digest.columnist the bidders who will be considered by a panel within the first two months of 2012 are (in alphabetical order):

Greg Norman/Ross Perrett
Tom Doak
Jack Nicklaus/Annika Sorenstam
Martin Hawtree
Peter Thomson/Ross Perrett
Robert Trent Jones III/Mario Gonzalez
